Well that’s just typical United isn’t it? Lose all five games in a row leading up to the semi-final, win it, qualify for Europe for the first time in eight years, then go to Ibrox on the Tuesday, where no-one has won all season, and then win there, to get off the bottom of the league (and simultaneously dent Rangers title challenge).
For the first time in a long time I’ll be going to bed tonight smiling about two very impressive and important victories in a row.
Add this to the news that reaching the cup final has netted the club a cool £500 000 and it has, without doubt, been the most cheerful week of a very up and down season.
Of course we have Hearts on Saturday – and would anyone care to predict an outcome? Certainly not myself.
