The Dons eased their relegation troubles as they ran out comfortable, 3-0 winners against a disjointed Dundee United.
Aberdeen boss Steve Paterson will be greatly encouraged by the excellent performances of new boys Steven Tosh and Paul Sheerin, together with youngster Stephen Payne.
The opening exchanges were high on effort, but poor on quality as a strong wind made conditions difficult for both sides.
The nearest either side came in this period was a low shot from Phil McGuire which was easily held by Paul Gallacher in the United goal.
With 27 minutes gone a wicked free-kick from Chris Clark saw Gallacher react very quickly to stop Craig Easton's misdirected header sneaking in at the far post.
At the other end Andy Tod could not get a clear header on goal, from Derek Lilley's cross and the ball flew over.
Tod caused problems with one of his knockdowns and Sheerin had to look lively as he cleared ahead of Lilley at the expense of a corner.
The Dons took the lead from the penalty spot on 38 minutes when Sheerin slotted the ball home after a soft award went in favour of the home side.
Direct play by Tosh took him 40 yards up field leaving three United defenders in his wake before finding Laurent D'Jaffo, but the big striker's soft effort failed to trouble Gallacher from 10 yards out.
With 66 minutes gone Dundee United looked to of brought the scores level when David McCracken flick on found ex-Don Billy Dodds, but David Preece got down brilliantly to keep out the striker's weak effort.
The Dons put the game beyond the visitors on 71 minutes when Sheerin moved onto a Laurent D'Jaffo pass and, with time and space, he drilled the ball home from 15 yards.
The game was all over as a contest minutes later when McGuire rose alone at the far post to head Stephen Payne's free-kick beyond the reach of Gallacher
