The deal comes after months of speculation about the player's future, which has seen him linked to Rotherham, Rangers, Levante in the Spanish La Liga, and a host of other clubs.
United Lose Charlie Miller
Opinion amongst fans seems mixed, with some saying that Charlie was, on his day, brilliant, but often lacked motivation and performance, but was still the best we had. Others are glad he has moved on, sick of him dragging United through the mill, and that the on-going transfer saga has tarnished his reputation beyond repair, and that he wouldn't have been welcomed back anyway, come the season's start.
Personally, I am sorry to see him go. He could be on his day a great player, he could turn games (and did). The Dees also hated him - a sign of the man's influence if ever there was one, and he was not only the most gifted player we had, but was probably the biggest 'character' we had too. Who can forget him showing his belly at that Derby, or the two-fingered salute? Sure he's in the George Best school of wasters - he over-eats and has a weight problem, and likes a pint or two as well, but Charlie, in my opinion, was great, and in my opinion it's sad that he's gone.
