SPL and Pre-Season Fixtures Announced
Last updated : 26 June 2004 By United Mad
United will kick of their campaign of the 2004/5 season with an away trip to the plastic pitch of East End Park to face The Pars, not a happy hunting ground last season, with one draw and two defeats, one of those putting us out of the Scottish Cup.
The following week will see us play our first home fixture of the campaign when we host our neighbours Dundee. Who can forget the shenanigans of the last Tannadice Derby, with the on/off boycott? Should be an interesting fixture. Incidentally, this is the fourth season in a row that United have had two guaranteed home derbies, and there have been protests made in the Dee camp about this from Peter Marr, claiming some kind of fix. It does seem a little unfair, and compounds my belief that the SPL couldn’t run a bus-stop on a one-way street. The game is a 2pm Sunday kick-off, and is live on Setanta – which should allow most exiles to catch a glimpse of the famous Tangerine.
For a full rundown of fixtures – please visit the Official Site here, as the SPL have some bizarre legal ruling about publishing fixture lists – as if attendances weren’t bad enough already!
