“The SPL sent us an e-mail on Monday morning saying they assumed our game would be going ahead because Dundee's was on,” said Thompson. “Maybe instead of sitting in their offices at Hampden they could jump in their car and come and see the conditions here.
“The east coast has had it very bad. I can assure everyone we have done everything we can to get the game on because we are desperate to play.
“From a purely football perspective, our team have not played for over a month now and are bursting to get out there. And, financially, it has made things very tough because we have had no money coming in for weeks.
"Wages still have to be paid and other costs met, even though you are bringing nothing in through the gate during that time. Rangers will be sitting on about £100,000 of ticket money for us which we won't get until 10 days after the game has been played — so of course we wanted it to go ahead.”
