Gary Hooper found the net in the dying seconds to secure Celtic a 2-1 win at Tannadice in October, while United scored an equaliser four minutes into injury time at Parkhead the following month.
"Games against the Old Firm at Tannadice have been exciting in recent seasons," said Houston.
"We lost to them with a last-minute goal when they came here earlier in the season and we scored one very late on down at Parkhead.
"So both teams have proved they are capable of it. They have done it to us and we have done it to them - it's even Steven so far.
"It's always sweet to score a goal but even more so when it's with the final kick of the ball.
"Celtic and Rangers have made a habit of it over the years but so have we.
"We have scored a lot of late goals this season and that says a lot about the belief and desire the players have.
"They never give up and keep going to the very end and that's something we have drilled into them.
"We usually raise our game against the Old Firm, they are normally very tight matches and I expect it to be no different on Sunday."
