Gavin Gunning swears Rangers will be hammered if the real Dundee United turn up at Ibrox on Saturday.
The big defender is chasing a hat-trick of Scottish Cup victories over Ally McCoist’s men after dumping them in each of the previous two seasons.
United won 2-0 in Glasgow in 2012 and last season crushed them 3-0 on Tayside without moving out of second gear.
A repeat of those performances would be more than enough to secure Jackie McNamara’s side a place in next month’s Scottish Cup Final.
Asked if there will only be one winner should United play as they can Gunning said: “That should be the case because we have a good squad full of really good players.
“You would like to think that if we turn up and do our stuff then we will win.
“Rangers have improved since we beat them last season and to go unbeaten in the league is good. They have shown great consistency.
“Last year getting the early goal helped us a lot. It was the first minute of the game and that killed them a bit.”
