The smiles and jollity in South Africa last night couldn't hide the fact that Carles Puyol and Co viewed the World Cup as a poor second to the Oban tourney...they were gutted to a man to have missed it...blatantly!
Now, I know it was just a friendly wee event but it's always great to win even more silver and what stuck out for me was the adaptability of some of the squad. How handy that boys like Andis Shala can show the willingness to play out of position and, apparently, acquit themselves very well in doing so.
The main positive of the outing has to be Fran Sandaza getting his eye for goal trained for the coming season and the fact that Scott Robertson seems to be back in contention can only give hope for our options (even if it's not exactly bad news fir bags of cement!).
Now we can look forward to Arabzone's exclusive footage from the Austria trip and get ourselves acclimatised to the rarefied European air. Dundee United...still the best decision my genes ever made.
