What a week! Despite Ranger’s man-of-the-match, Dougie Macdonald putting in another sterling shift for them at Tannadice, David Robertson tor up the script with a scrambled but thoroughly deserved winner for us. Victory was made all the sweeter when checking out the highlights of all the compulsory penalties denied us…the acronym ‘GIRFUY’ seems strangely apt for Mr Macdonald in this instance from Arabs everywhere.
Huge credit to Peter Houston and the boys for then taking the momentum of the cup win into the SPL with a superb win over Motherwell, which, if I’m brutally honest, I didn’t foresee when we went down to 10 men so early in the game. I genuinely hope United intend to appeal the red as it was harsh in the extreme.
Hard to single out any one player but Prince Bauben has really come into his own in the second half of this season and is showing us Arabs what he’s capable of. Our midfield is undoubtedly one of our great strengths (after a minor blip at the beginning of the season) and it's great to see the likes of The Prince maturing into such a great player.
Let’s keep the momentum for Easter Road please United…forget about Hampden for the moment and keep up the brilliant work in the league. Three points at Hibs is a big ask but, as recent performances have shown, we're more than capable.
