What a fantastic weekend for Dundee United and, it might be said, a great weekend for Scottish football in general. Ross County’s well-earned win means a strictly no Old Firm policy will be in operation come May 15th and while United started slowly against plucky Raith, we grew in stature after the first goal and we’re in the final on merit too.
Peter Houston and the boys showed Raith the correct respect and, if we want to finally lift the Scottish Cup again, we need to do similar with Ross County who certainly wont be turning up at Hampden to make up the numbers.
This season has been a gift to Arabs…we’ve seen some great football and finally seen the potential of the past few seasons come to fruition. Let’s hope we can overcome that final hurdle and take some silver back to Tannadice Street. Another good performance against Rangers tonight and, who knows, maybe those Champions League dreams may yet become reality. What a breath of fresh air that would be.
