HERE'S A SUMMARY OF LAST NIGHT'S MEETING:
Firstly, thanks to all who attended - it was a most productive discussion, which only finished at 10.15.
Incidentally I have a full transcript if anyone wants a copy.
Things that were decided for by those present (well you've gotta start somewhere).
We will launch officially on the 16th january 2005 the day after Hearts Away. This gives people time to set up some of the items listed below, and to publicise the club.
We will re-assess club and personnel after three months (mid april) giving the new members a chance to voice any issues or raise any concerns.
The bank account. We are going to set up a proper 'Clubs and Societies' bank account in Dundee. Razor/Her man are doing the work for this, many thanks indeed to them.
We will have a website with matchday chatroom, messageboard etc - already set up - and various other features and freebies, available to members (possibly even merchandise in the future if the club goes well).
We should, with the first raised funds, buy a domain name eg aoldusc.com, which should cost around £45 for two years, as an online club should have as a priority a well maintained website and newsletter.
It will cost £5 to be a member, annually.
We can be a little risque eg dundonianisms in the newsletter/website if we like, no need to be over-formal as we are not constrained entirely by officialdom.
We were considering drawing up an actual constitution, until razor's man (researching, full marks that man) saw that we NEED a constitution to open the actual bank account - therefore a proper constitution will be drawn up and placed online before the launch date, for viewing and any amendments. things like fund raisng for DUFC and promoting of club and and fanbase etc.
Please keep an aye on our temporary website here
